AUSTIN SCHUVER is a land conservationist and photographer.

He has worked with non-profits for 10 years, including an environmental organization he founded in his hometown of Enumclaw, Washington.

Austin recently completed a Master’s of Science at the University of Montana. His original social science research focused on communicating science and policy in food, energy, and water systems.

He studied writing and conservation at College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor, Maine, next door to Acadia National Park. In Maine, he tutored students in College of the Atlantic’s Writing Center, tested water quality in remote lakes, and researched birds on an offshore island.

He has led community engagement for a non-profit land trust, Frenchman Bay Conservancy, organizing partnerships, planning events, directing outreach, and connecting people with incredible places across Downeast Maine.

His stories and photographs have been published in College of the Atlantic Magazine, Parks Stewardship Forum, Montana Drought & Climate, Maine Today, Ellsworth American, Mount Desert Islander, Enumclaw Courier-Herald, New Day Northwest and the newsletters and online media of numerous non-profit organizations.

Austin’s hobbies include baking sourdough, birding, running, and all racket and lawn sports ever invented.
