Jackson Gillman '78, known as the “Stand-Up Chameleon,” is a performer, storyteller, mime, actor, and musician celebrated for his imaginative one-man theater performances. Blending comedy, storytelling, song, movement, dialect, and audience interaction, Jackson transforms into a wide array of eccentric and memorable characters with warmth, humor, and extraordinary versatility.
A favorite with audiences of all ages, Jackson has performed at festivals, schools, colleges, libraries, and theaters throughout the country. He has been featured four times at the National Storytelling Festival in Tennessee and served three times as Teller-in-Residence at the International Storytelling Center.
For twenty years, Jackson hosted a summer concert series of comedy, music, and New Vaudeville on Mount Desert Island. He continues to bring his inventive and deeply human performances to audiences nationwide.
