Speaker Bio

“Mary-Kate is one of the most giving physical therapists, yoga instructors, and wellness counselors I have ever met. To take one of her classes is amazing.” - Martha Stewart

Mary-Kate is an international master yoga teacher living on Mount Desert Island, Maine. She has taught yoga for 30 years and trained internationally, guiding students in classes and retreats around the world as well as year-round in Bar Harbor.

Mary-Kate currently incorporates many trauma-informed, nervous-system-regulating modalities into her classes, helping to support healing for the heart, mind, and body during these unusual times. Students of all levels—from beginner to advanced—and of all ages, shapes, and sizes are always welcome. Yoga is an invitation to connect with our inner world: to heal, to feel, and to become more fully alive in the present moment.

Mary-Kate's practice was sparked by her first yoga class with one of her outdoor leadership instructors when she attended a course through the National Outdoor Leadership School. Following the NOLS course, Mary-Kate studied dance therapy and wilderness leadership at Prescott College. As a postgraduate, she worked at an outpatient women’s addiction treatment center in Arizona, teaching yoga and movement classes. Mary-Kate continued her transformative yoga career by completing a yoga teacher training with Deb Neubauer in North Hampton, Mass.

Throughout her career, she has guided yoga students around the world in the art of physical, mental, and spiritual transformation.
