Frances Stead Sellers is an associate director of The Washington Post. She has worked as a senior writer on the National Desk and as a frequent moderator for Washington Post Live. She was formerly a senior editor who ran several sections of The Post, including Style and Health and Science. Sellers’ honors and awards include: Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law Journalist in Residence, 2024; Lady Margaret Hall Visiting Fellow, Oxford University, 2017; Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism Visiting Fellow, 2017; UN Foundation Press Fellow, 2015; Wolfson College Press Fellow, Cambridge University, 2006; Alicia Patterson Foundation Fellow, 2003; British Thouron Scholar. Sellers holds an honors bachelor’s degree in modern languages from the University of Oxford and a master’s degree in linguistics from the University of Pennsylvania.
