Susan G. Letcher is a plant ecologist and faculty member at College of the Atlantic, where she holds the Elizabeth Battles Newlin Chair in Botany. Her teaching and research focus on botany, ecology, and statistics, with particular interests in forest dynamics and tropical ecosystems.
Before joining COA, Susan served as Assistant Professor of Environmental Studies at Purchase College (SUNY) and held multiple leadership and teaching roles with the Organization for Tropical Studies in Costa Rica, including Resident Professor and coordinator of the Research Experience for Undergraduates program at La Selva Biological Station.
Susan brings extensive experience in field-based ecological research and interdisciplinary environmental education to her work with students both in the classroom and outdoors.
