Join plant ecology professor Susan Letcher for a guided campus walk exploring the hidden lives of plants. Although plants are deeply different from animals, they face many of the same fundamental challenges: finding resources, defending themselves from pests and disease, reproducing, competing, building alliances, and adapting to changing environments.

Through close observation and conversation, this walk will offer behind-the-scenes insight into how plants survive, interact, and shape the ecosystems around us—revealing the remarkable strategies unfolding quietly all around campus. Suitable for adults and children of all ages.

Participants will meet in the Admissions Office and walk from there.
